Villanovan Paintings

Villanovan paintings are the predecessors to the Etruscan paintings and there are many similarities between the two. Villanovan paintings split the scene in two with a date tree and use vegetation to try and create an accurate landscape. However, the proportions between objects are not very realistic. Animals are depicted accurately and several of these features would also be later adopted into Roman Paintings.
