Legio II Herculia
Legio II Herculia was a Roman legion that was created by Emperor Diocletian (284-305). The name for this legion comes from the Greek legend of Hercules (Herakles). This legion is believed to have been grouped with Legio I Iovia in order to defend the newly created province of Scythia Minor and was stationed at Capidava. According to the document Notitia Dignitatum this legion was still present at its camp on the Danube River at the beginning of the 5th century AD.
