Later, towards the end of the first century , Domitian did extend the arches of the aqueduct to Palatine to supply water to the Imperial Palace .This extension of the aqueduct of the Aqua Claudia does not have the desired effect on the water flow. Indeed, the fraudulent misappropriation still increasing, to the point that Caelius and Aventine are deprived waters of the Aqua Marcia and the Aqua Julia , although they now have those of the Aqua Claudia .Description [ edit | edit the code ]The water line is carried by four floors of arcades to cross the hollow separating the Caelius of Palatine . The arches bricks oozing and blackened contrast with gold and whiteness of Palatine .In its final version, the aqueduct is two kilometers long and joins the Temple of the Divine Claude on Cælius . The vaults have an opening of 7.75 meters and pillars, made only of brick , are long 2.30 meters and 2.10 meters thick.
